Kodi 19 Welcomes tvOS Axes iOS 32bit Version

iOS 32-bit devices will no longer be supported from Kodi 19 onwards.

With the anticipated release of Kodi 19, tvOS will be added and supported as an official platform. It will be fully featured, supporting top-shelf and the Siri remote, with support for both the Apple 4 and 4K. Similar to iOS, it will require jailbreaking or side loading.

The following will be the oldest supported devices as of Kodi 19
  • iPhone 5s
  • iPad Air
  • iPad mini 2
  • iPod touch – 6th gen.

Devices older than the ones above (older iOS 32-bit devices) will continue to benefit from Kodi 18 and lower indefinitely.

New Apple TV 4 Jailbreak is Almost Here

Great news!

An Apple TV 4 jailbreak is complete and almost ready for the masses. Hopefully it will be an easier process, as many people have been waiting for a ATV4 jailbreak for quite some time. Previously exclusive to tvOS 9.0.X, this version should include users and ATV4s that have tvOS 10.1

This is particularly exciting since most jailbreaks are a gateway to many new applications (like Kodi), modifications, tweaks and customization.

As mentioned above, this jailbreak will most likely impact ATV4 devices running tvOS 10.1. The jailbreak was achieved using a kernel vulnerability.

Apple TV 4 TvOS 9.2.2 Update Is Now Available

tvOS 9.2.2 update is here!

The new tvOS 9.2.2 update is here! Although considered a minor update, it lays the ground work for the next major update tvOS 10 available in Q4. Overall this update essentially focuses on performance improvements and bug fixes that were found in versions prior to tvOS 9.2.2.

Remember when updating to new tvOS 9.2.2 Kodi will have to be reinstalled.

How to Stop Kodi Removal After Apple TV 4 Updates

How to Fix The “Kodi Is No Longer Available” Error Message

Many users have noticed their Kodi and other non-Apple App Store installed (side loaded) applications has been removed from their devices following an update. When clicking on Kodi they get the “Kodi is no longer available” error message. The reason is simple, Apple restores all devices to a “factory like” state after all updates. Which means if your device has a “non approved” or “sideloaded” apps like Kodi they will be removed. So if reloading your apps constantly is something you enjoy then for you this article ends here. But for the rest of us, stopping automatic updates will stop Kodi’s removal on your ATV4.

Disabling Automatic Updates

  • On your Apple TV 4
  • Go to Settings then System
  • Under Maintenance click on Software Updates
  • Switch Automatically Update off.

Apple TV 4 Jailbreak Coming Soon!

Amazing news!

The Pangu Team, responsible for many iOS jailbreaks (and most recently the iOS 9.1 jailbreak) have recently announced they are on the verge of officially releasing a jailbreak for the Apple TV 4 via tweet.

We will release jb for Apple TV4(9.0.x) next week which only has SSH access. It’s mainly for security researchers and jailbreak developers.

Previously adding Kodi to the ATV4 was a bit of a difficult task as only MAC users can do it. But with a jailbreak the task will be opened to anyone (MAC or PC users).

The jailbreak will only include SSH access (for now *fingers crossed*) which means adding Kodi may require a bit of skill but it will definately be easier than the current options.
