For those of you that still have their Apple TVs on tvOS 11.3 depending on your situation you can jailbreak it with one of the tutorials below.
The new and popular streaming app service VUDU is in development for the Apple TV 4 and will soon be available. The app offers free (with ads) and paid movies and TV shows.
The launch date has not been revealed yet.

Great news!
An Apple TV 4 jailbreak is complete and almost ready for the masses. Hopefully it will be an easier process, as many people have been waiting for a ATV4 jailbreak for quite some time. Previously exclusive to tvOS 9.0.X, this version should include users and ATV4s that have tvOS 10.1
This is particularly exciting since most jailbreaks are a gateway to many new applications (like Kodi), modifications, tweaks and customization.
As mentioned above, this jailbreak will most likely impact ATV4 devices running tvOS 10.1. The jailbreak was achieved using a kernel vulnerability.

With newer technology comes all sorts of newer lighter materials. Take the new Apple TV Siri Remote. You can talk to it, you can use the touch interface at the top of the remote but unfortunately it’s fragile. The main surface is made of glass, combined with the slick metal back cover and the high price for replacement, creates the perfect situation for some very expensive mistakes. Compared to the virtually indestructible 2nd and 3rd generation metal remotes, the 4th generation Apple TV remotes simply aren’t as durable. Even the plastic 1st generation remotes have a bit of a leg up. Based on feedback you could carpet your house or wrap your hand in bubble wrap while using the remote but an easier more logical solution a resistant silicone case. Reminds us of the issues that Nintendo had with the Wii and all those broken TV screens…Good times…

Amazing news!
The Pangu Team, responsible for many iOS jailbreaks (and most recently the iOS 9.1 jailbreak) have recently announced they are on the verge of officially releasing a jailbreak for the Apple TV 4 via tweet.
We will release jb for Apple TV4(9.0.x) next week which only has SSH access. It’s mainly for security researchers and jailbreak developers.

Previously adding Kodi to the ATV4 was a bit of a difficult task as only MAC users can do it. But with a jailbreak the task will be opened to anyone (MAC or PC users).
The jailbreak will only include SSH access (for now *fingers crossed*) which means adding Kodi may require a bit of skill but it will definately be easier than the current options.

The team at iFixit.com got their hands on the new ATV4 and decided to open it up and break it down to a 1000 pieces. This way they can gauge the “repairability” of the device. Well the new Apple device passed with flying colors – Repairability: 8 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair).
