Initially known as the iTV, Apple TV was unveiled for preview last September 2006. Apple started accepting pre-order by January 2007 and began distributing March of the same year. At first, Apple TV was shipped bundled with a 40 GB hard disk. Two months later, a higher storage 160 GB version was released that paved the way for the discontinuance of the first release.
Apple announced the release of Apple TV2 by September 2010 with the news that the price will be slashed for about one-third.
